Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Position Reports To: Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Salary
- This is a full-time permanent position eligible for enrollment in company benefit plans after 60 days and Vacation time after 90 days.
- Flexible Hours will vary from day to day especially in the Peak season May-December

Job Purpose Summary:
Manage the maintenance department to ensure maximum production and facility uptime, through the effective repair, safety, upkeep and maintenance of equipment, facilities, and adjacent property.
Specific Responsibilities of the Position:
- Serve the needs of customers and all stakeholders
- Hire, train, and provide direct leadership in managing departmental employees according to company standards:
- Set clear expectations, provide support, and ensure accountability
- Provide effective training
- Provide direct oversight and ownership on all departmental activities
- As a member of the Core Operations Management team, proactively oversee, and manage operations employees, in all areas, to ensure compliance of company policies and expectations.
- As a member of the HACCP team, proactively participate in the development, validation and verification of HACCP procedures, and drive food safety improvements throughout the operation.
- Work with Safety Team, to drive safety improvements throughout the operation.
- Develop and maintain departmental metrics,and provide subsequent trend data to analyze and drive cost and quality improvements throughout the operation.
- Create, maintain, and manage and effective Preventive Maintenance program, and proactively make changes to the program as needed.
- Effectively manage the purchase, inventory and use of all maintenance equipment, parts and supplies. Ensure parts are organized, and available to departmental employees when needed.
- Coordinate outside maintenance contract labor as needed.
- Develop and maintain an active and effective maintenance schedule, including changes to project scopes and timelines, which eliminates production downtime, and is communicated within, and to, all departments and senior management for operational planning.
- Ensure all applicable facility and equipment changes are reviewed and validated by the HACCP team prior to implementation.
- Ensure the maintenance shop (and related areas) are kept clean, organized, and audit ready according to GFSI standards and senior management expectations.
- Ensure proper cleanup and signoffs on equipment repairs
- Ensure all employees are properly trained in Lock out / Tag out procedures. Comply with company-required safety training to include but not limited to: GMP practices, lockout/tag-out, proper lifting, and other safety training.
- For all equipment problems, identify root cause, corrective and preventive actions.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Detailed knowledge and experience in manufacturing machinery
- Above average skills in Electrical, HVAC, and plumbing
- Excellent leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain systems, schedules and reports
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage employees
- Demonstrated ability to drive process / equipment improvements
- Detailed knowledge of production, manufacturing, equipment, mechanical, electrical maintenance
- Experience in driving departmental performance
Education and Experience:
- Degree or equivalent experience: College degree, or equivalent experience
- Years of experience: 10-15
- Specialized training in: HVAC, Pre-maintenance, Mechanical, and Boiler and Refrigeration
- Other requirements preferred but not required- (certifications and so forth): State of Michigan electrical contractors and HVAC license.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift 50lbs, ability to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods.
Work Environment:
Maintenance personnel maybe exposed to load noise, welding, grinding sparks, smoke, water and hot and cold environment.
