Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist
Position Reports To: Warehouse Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
- Hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Benefits after 60 days and 40 hours of vacation after 90 days.

Position Purpose Summary: The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for processing customer orders/releases, also provides front desk related duties such as answering phones, transferring calls, receiving incoming visitors.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
- Processes orders and generates WMS release orders daily
- Files and organizes records
- Coordinates completion of necessary paperwork to accompany out bound loads
- Creates export documents/USMCA Doc
- Creates and sends WMS requests, provides Bill of Landing
- Answers phones and greets incoming visitors and drivers
- Processes inbound deliveries and labels for outbound shipments
- Provides back up support coverage for Inventory and Invoicing Coordinator when needed
- Communicates to other departments on product availability
- Schedules freight appointments
- Maintains petty cash log, receipts, incoming packages, and visitor sign in documents
- Responsible for Vending communication
- Authorizes Express Codes for Comchecks, EFS, etc.
- Communicates with forklift drivers the expectation of each shipment
- Order supplies for the office setting

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Broad knowledge and experience in customer service or shipping/receiving operations
- Above average skills in communications
- Excellent skills in scheduling
- Willingness to adapt quickly to changing policies or procedures, when necessary
- Demonstrated ability to provide creative problem solving; maintain composure under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a fast paced environment, communicates effectively with both colleagues and customers
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Degree or equivalent experience: High school diploma or equivalent
- Years of Experience: 2 years of office, reception, or shipping/receiving
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, visually inspect equipment and pay close attention to details while in a cold (down to 45ᵒ F) environment. The employee is also required to sit and frequently type.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to medium. The temperatures in this work environment can be down to 45ᵒ F.
